Hebrews 11:24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
The story of Moses being adopted by Pharaoh’s daughter is well known to many Bible readers.
He was born to Amram and Jochabed and when Moses was a few months old, he was sent down a river in a little boat. The Bible calls it an ark, made of bulrushes, which grew near the water’s edge.
Pharaoh’s daughter found him, named him Moses, and he was sent back to his mother to be taken care of by the riches of Egypt.
When Moses grew up, although he had riches and power at his disposal; the most powerful nation at the time, there came a point at which he chose not to partake of that lifestyle.
Why did he choose this? It was because he knew that he was a Jew and was therefore not like the Egyptians, with whom he had lived.
He also knew, probably through the teachings of his mother who raised him for Pharaoh’s daughter, that the people of God had a much better and more blessed eternal inheritance than the Egyptians.
This is a move that can only be inspired by God moving in someone’s heart!
And so it is with God’s people today. While the rest of the world around us, maybe even those with whom we have grown up, are living and abiding by certain ways that do not please the Lord, as God’s people we must choose to refuse to be partakers with them, but rather to be partakers with the people of God whose inheritance is far better and more eternal!
This is what Moses chose to do and he is still blessed to this very day because of it!
Our hope is that you will do the same!
God bless you,
